Racing History:
Beginning racing at the ripe old age of 12, Jon, like most young drivers, started in the karting ranks competing at the local at a clubs. Success in his first outing, he quickly moved up the kart ranks between classes, sanctioning bodies eventually stocking a full cabinet of trophies. Enjoying continued success in karting, he was itching to keep climbing the ladder, and step into bigger cars. A high school graduation gift of attending the Skip Barber racing school, and Jon was hooked for life on racing. In the interest of getting a college degree in ‘motorsports’, he attended the University of Florida studying Mechanical Engineering.
Jon began a relationship with the Skip Barber racing school, by way of racing and winning in the Eastern Race Series, and also as he began work as an instructor. Finding joy in communicating his experiences and knowledge with students, Jon continues instructing at all of the various racing schools across the country. More recently, Jon began a sub-career driving in ‘entertainment’ as the Lead for Walt Disney World’s Lights, Motors, Action! stunt show. Jon’s racing background spans from FF2000, Barber Dodge, FIA Formula 3, Formula Atlantic, Ferrari Challenge, Midget/Sprint cars, and AMA Super Sport. |
