  Season Preview: 2008 FX Racing SKUSA Team

FX Racing will take to the track for this weekend’s ProKart Challenge ready to re-establish their winning ways.  Developments in the off-season with Trackmagic Racing Karts, drivers and team partners have created new energy in the team.

Jim Barnes will be returning to his second full season of PKC competition with FX Racing making the switch to the Spec Honda category.  Barnes, commuting from San Francisco for the best karting competition with 6 speeds, has his sites set on race wins and contending for the championship in Spec 4 light.

2006 G2 Season champion Philip Conte, entering this year’s challenge with his feet firmly planted in the Spec Honda class.  Paired with top tuner Greg Marlow, Conte’s is set to return to regular competition after an interrupted schedule in 2007.  The moto-formula suits Conte’s driving style quite well and he’s looking to repeat his championship efforts.

New recruit Bobby Legate will be leading the charge in Spec 3.  Fresh off the WinterNationals Championship, Legate will be aboard a Trackmagic FTR with sites firmly planted on the championship and SuperNationals. 

The veteran, Steve Wiener will again take to the TaG Masters category.  After a series of technical issues with the new ROK TT power plant, Wiener has re-grouped and ready for the ProKart Season.  Wiener has done a series of track days leading into the season and ready for the challenge.

The six race ProKart Challenge championship will travel to Southern California’s best tracks through August.  Its set to be an exciting season for the San Diego based crew with exciting new announcements in the works.

FX Racing USA is a professional motorsports organization, with competition roots that span 12 countries worldwide, supporting kart racers with event preparation, parts & chassis sales and full service trackside support. Combining strong engineering skills, international race experience and full service event production, the team supports programs from driver coaching to comprehensive championship assaults.   FX Racing original started competing in 1994. With founder Frank Bain at the wheel of a Margay kart with a Yamaha can in the Sportsman category. Bain paid tibute to his motrosports enthusiast father by naming the racing team after his initials, Francis Xavier.
